  • Every three months dry the saree on light sunlight. This will prevent fungal infections and odors and helps to retain the color and shine of the saree.
  • Storing sarees in a plastic cover should be avoided. Store them in a cotton bag.
  • Heavy sarees with great embroidery work and embellishments should be folded oppositely. So that the part which has embroidery work goes inside.
  • If you stain the saree, wash them with cold running water. Use a mild body soap or talcum powder to remove the stain.
  • Iron the saree with a cotton cloth on the top.
  • Prevent washing the sarees often. Use saltwater to retain the color of the saree. Use soap after two to three washes. It is better to dry clean silk and zari embroidery sarees.

A zari is called a pure zari only when the percentage of the pure silver is not less than half of the mass of the zari material. On the other hand, tested zari has the same external features of pure zari. Tested zari is also known as half fine zari. In terms of shine both zari looks alike. The difference between tested zari and pure zari is that in tested zari silver gilding is done on the copper wire and copper lametta is used for silver.
